#SaveFlappyBird

After being the #1 game for over a month on the free app store, Flappy Bird is no longer available due to the programmer removing it.  Dong Nguyen took down his popular game Flappy Bird yesterday and gave gamers 22 hours notice by tweeting that it would be removed.  He said through tweets that although Flappy Bird was a success of his, that it has also ruined his life.  He went on to tweet that the press surrounding Flappy Bird was something he never wanted and he just wants to be left alone.

The 29 year old from Hanoi, Vietnam, created the game in May 2013 but it became increasingly popular and was reported to earn $50,000 a day in ad revenue.

Nguyen was accused earlier of ripping off other games to create Flappy Bird but also tweeted that taking down the game was not related to legal issues.

You can no longer find Flappy Bird under top free games or by searching.

I'll file this one under interesting but wierd.
